Mercedes Schlapp, the White House strategy director for communications has a tough task. It's not easy for Mercedes Schlapp to be the advisor to strategic communications for the White House. The company received lots of press attention after she was identified as a candidate to replace Hope Hicks, the communications director. It hasn't been a pleasant fight.
